Kumuyi blames increasing suicide on economic
The General Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi has attributed the increasing rate suicide in the country to economic hardship being experienced by a vast majority of Nigerians.
He stated this on the sidelines of a one-day crusade at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State with the theme: “Absolute Triumph.” However, the Ogun State Overseer of the Church, Pastor Edison Daminabo yesterday said the Federal Government could not win the war against corruption with only laws and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) but by God’s intervention.
He said except God arrests the corrupt leaders and change them for good, corruption would continue to thrive in the country, stressing that those who engage in corrupt practices needed a “spiritual rebirth, which would prompt their genuine repentance.”
He pointed out that Christians needed to bring God back to Africa, particularly Nigeria since the people have neglected God for too long, adding, “that is why it seems like we are not winning the war against corruption because we cannot fight it with only laws and the EFCC. We need something more than that. We need prayers and we need God to arrest the minds of the corrupt leaders.”
Daminabo spoke at a press conference on the crusade scheduled for Friday, May 26 at the Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode where no fewer than 500,000 participants are being expected.
The cleric noted that despite the Federal Government efforts in fighting corruption, it still thrives and advised the government to deploy the spiritual dimension in the fight as the efforts of the EFCC and the courts alone were not enough to tackle the menace.
“We cannot fight corruption with the EFCC and the laws alone. There must be spiritual dimension to the fight. It is only God that can change the hearts of people to turn away from corruption,” he started Daminabo added that it may be impossible for genuine Christians to participate in politics except by divine intervention, “because politics in Nigeria and Africa is a do or die affairs, where winner takes all.”
The cleric stressed that the country was going through difficult times and nothing was working, insisting that no one can help the country expect God.
He noted that the hopelessness had led to increase in suicide rate, arguing that it was only through divine intervention that Nigerians could triumph over diseases, poverty, sin, financial bondage and failure.

Nyesom Wike,Rivers state governor accuses Rotimi Amaechi former River state governor of forming a new cult group
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has accused his predecessor now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, of forming a new cult group with the motive of creating security crisis in the state.
Speaking during the Commissioning of the Kpopie-Bodo Road in Gokana LGA yesterday as part of activities to commemorate two years anniversary of his administration, Governor Wike said that the cult group formed by the former governor has been christened new rivers cult group.
He urged security agencies to call the immediate past governor to order as the new cult group will be resisted by the law abiding people of the state.
Wike revealed that the former governor inaugurated the cult group at a private residence in Woji area of Port Harcourt, after which he distributed N500, 000 to each of the 23 Local government areas. He noted that the new cult group has two coordinators: Mr Ojukaye Flag Amachree and Oji Ngofa who have been mobilised by the former governor. Mr Ojukaye is presently standing trial for murder.
"Let me alert Nigerians. I am only informing Nigerians and security agencies of the crime against Rivers State by the immediate past governor. We have successfully concluded the state amnesty programme for cultists in the state , but the former governor has set up another cult group."
The governor explained that the former governor assured members of his new cult group that they will receive security protection, adding that the new cult group members have been armed for the 2019 General elections.
"I am shouting for the security agencies to hear us. Let heaven hear us. Let nobody allow his son to be used . No amount of cult recruitment can intimidate us. I am calling on the security agencies to call the former governor to order"he said.

For all my Naturalister. Keep that kinky hair healthy
How to get that Super soft and Shinny hair
So many naturals Can u please respond, I am desperate to get this shipment before 25th , and I already use the fund on credit card to place this order, if u are not sending, let me know so I can purchase from another sellers , your silent is leaving me helpless....please I need you to respond so I can know the next step to take. It's very urgent concerned about the hardness of their hair. They want softer texture. The truth is, our hair can actually be soft but there are procedures…
1, Spritz spritz and spritz!
You can never go wrong with spritzing your hair. How I love the cool feeling down my scalp I mean this is what look forward to doing always. I simply love it! To spritz your hair, get a spray bottle, add 80% water and 20% oil, shake and spray on your scalp at intervals. I see this as sowing a seed and watering it, we all know that without water, seeds won’t grow. Water moistens the soil and prepares the seed for growth. Same goes with our hair, spritzing does the same work by watering the scalp and activating the cells for growth.
2 Shampoo when due. So many naturalists choose their own routine as to when to sham wash and co wash. It’s really up to you to decide, for me I shampoo every 2 weeks but on rare occasion, I can go 3weeks without shampoo or soap. Soap helps wash away build ups from the hair so when buildups are gone, the strand is clean and soft. Conditioners alone won’t remove build ups from styling products and oils but soaps will. So get a mild shampoo to wash them off then your strands can get softer.
Heat up your conditioner (2mins) and cover up with steaming cap/towel for about 30mins. This is because heat helps products work faster.
Do not joke with your leave-in conditioner. Leave-in conditioners helps the hair maintain moisture and when your hair is well moisturized then it can’t be hard. There’s a lovely leave-in brand I discovered lately, will be doing the review soon. If you can’t get a good one, mix aloe vera juice and your conditioner; add little water and you have a leave-in conditioner.
Stretch your hair with thread immediately after wash, this helps retain softness than leaving the hair to dry out and become hard. How to do it? First, apply your leave in conditioner or oils to freshly washed hair and braid or twist to dry, you can cut hair into 2 fat strands, and twist or thread. In the second cycle, unravel the dry twists or braids, rewet lightly with water and reapply a small amount of leave in or oil once more. Retwist or rebraid and allow to dry once more then you’ll get a really good, well stretched and soft hair.
Do not over use protein in your hair routine. Protein is important; it helps reinforce your hair strands which keeps them strong and prevents breakage but using too much of it, however, will make your hair hard and brittle. On the other hand, if you have fine hair, your hair actually needs protein, and over moisturising hair can, ironically, leave it feeling hard and dry.
Some may ask – So how do I know if I have protein in my products? There are words you should look for such as-
protein
collagen
mayonnaise
keratin
amino acids &
cholesterol
In addition, common ingredients used by we naturals in our hair that are protein based are: coconut milk, eggs, yoghurt and mayonnaise. It’s equally important to know that these are not as effective as hydrolized proteins found in processed products because of the size of the molecules but they are still good when you need some protein boost.
In spite of all these, it is important to note that external factors such as weather, manipulation etc can affect the state of our hair even after observing these points. Understanding your hair is key and it comes with time and experience, but in the meantime, we should focus on moisturizing and conditioning, by doing a moisture treatment once a week and a protein treatment once a month or as it suits your hair.
I want to introduce this to our newbies who may not have inkling what this could do to their hair. a mixture for softening natural hair cos most of you know it, it’s the Crisco you use in baking and frying your chicken, turkey etc.
Most naturals know about it but this particular recipe was what I formulated and its working wonders for me and my baby now.
Crisco contains fully hydrogenated cottonseed oil and partially hydrogenated soybean oil. This simply means that what used to be a liquid oil has gone through a chemical process and has solidified at room temperature.
This process makes the chemical structure of liquid oil more like that of fats for making candles and soaps. You can use it alone on natural hair (and even skin) or use as a base for a homemade hair product mix.
When a Crisco mixed product is applied to wet natural hair, it smooths and conditions hair. You can use Crisco to seal moisture into hair after moisturizing.
It can also be used to give definition for a braid-out, twist-out or finger coil hairstyle. Not only will your hair have sheen and feel soft, but Crisco gives your mix a good amount of hold for stretching purposes. This is especially beneficial to ladies whose hair types shrinks up to 75% of their full length.
Getting this mixture right, your hair will thank you for it.
RECIPE-
PROCESS-Take three tablespoons of Crisco (for medium sized hair, double for longer hair)
Shea butter
1 spoon of vegetable glycerine
1 teaspoon of Olive or Coconut Oil
3 Spoons of VO5 Conditioner (optional)
4,A drop of Lavender oil.
Mix all, apply on your hair, cover for 20-30mins and rinse with warm water.
You can also apply on dry hair.
My baby used to dread combing his hair, combing time used to be ‘war time’, he fights with the comb and also with me so I waited for him to get to 7months before I introduced this to his regime now combing time is fun time for us!
I didn’t add VO5 and essential oil to his mix(essential oils are not good for children).
Crisco also helps to get defined curls as can be seen in my pic below but that's with another recipe.
You should be cautious to maintain the soft texture acquired eg make sure you sleep with a satin cap on to trap in the moisture from the process also observe other practices that would ensure your hair remain healthy and well maintained eg GHE, clarifying the scalp, tea rinse, etc we shall be discussing them as we proceed in this series.
Please note
This might not work for everyone as our hair types differ but try it out and let us know how your hair felt.
With this, you don't need a texturizer. You can take that to the bank.
Crisco can be bought in Grocery stores, baking Stores, big supermarkets like Shop rite etc.
I hope this helps.
