AS‘tele hangout , 12 November 2017

AS’TELE Hangout is a collective of Creatives, with the burning desire to give expression to their Art/Talent. It is a place where new ideas and exceptionally creative works of art: Dance, Music, Poetry, Visual arts etc., are being performed for the first time, to an audience of stakeholders, colleagues, friends, families and art enthusiasts.
The hangout is a quarterly event that will feature excerpts of newly created works and sometimes full length pieces, which should be looked out for. At the end of every show, the audience will have the opportunity of a sneak peek into the artistes' creative process, as well as share their views and ask questions. During each edition, a Dance Icon shall be celebrated. The celebration shall include an excerpt of the celebrity’s work and a Q&A session. The celebrity shall be given an honorarium and an award of service and recognition, for his/her contribution to the art industry in Nigeria. Stakeholders, programmers and promoters shall be invited, and the event shall last for a maximum of 2hours. The maiden edition shall hold on the 12th of November 2017, by 5pm prompt.
This edition of AS’TELE Hangout is hosted by Ameckor’s Dream Orchad (White House, 104, St Finbarr’s College road Akoka), a place for orphanage and dedicated to supporting the Arts. The Hangout will feature a number of new works and artistes. One of which is an excerpt of: ‘J u s t M e ' by Esther Essien: a dance piece about the aloneness of human, how they go through life’s challenges, pains, struggles, dominance, success and triumph. Another by Bakare Ismail Abiodun. A dance piece titled ‘ Tr a c e s ‘. It deals with the problem and quest for identity and more importantly, it’s about the  experiences of people living in the diaspora and how they search for a connection to their root or origin, in other to have a feel of home and a sense of belonging.
The Hangout will also feature a music creation by Oluwatosin Oyee (Oyebisi Tosin Akinboye). The music piece titled ‘ k o g b a g i d i ’ which talks about the importance of leisure and how to live a fulfilled and fun filled life, as inspired by Isioma Williams. Finally, an excerpt of the acclaimed Dance piece titled i S t a n d shall be performed. The creation focuses onthe survival of women in a men dominated world, along side their struggle to fit into this men dominated system, with an underlying theme of 'I am because we are, we are because I am'. The amazing, creative and unique dance piece has been performed at the first edition of Dance Gathering, during Lagos contemporary Dance Festival and Afriganza festival amongst others. Due to popular demand, iwas performed again for the 2nd time on the final day of Lagos contemporary Dance Festival after being performed at the dancing city showcase platform. So, in case you missed these shows, here is an opportunity to see an excerpt and as well meet the artistes who costumed, conceptualised, choreographed and performed it.
At AS’TELE Hangout, you will see amazing performances you can’t find anywhere else. The show starts at 5pm... When we say 5pm, in reality, we mean 4.30pm. This is not Africa...this is Ta n t o l o u n P r o d u c t i o n s ....you sure don’t want to miss any part/moment of the show, see you! 
The aim of As’tele Hangout is to:
• Promote creative and original works
• create a platform for young and emerging artists to showcase their
works.
• create an avenue for audience and fans of the arts to meet the artists.
• bridge the gap between emerging artists and stakeholders/promoters
/programmers.
• create opportunities for these new works to be toured and developed
through supports and art residencies.
• in the long run, create source of income to both emerging artists and artists with new work 
THE CREATIVE TEAM 
ESTHER ESSIEN Is an industrious and a prolific Performer: a versatile Dancer, Drummer, Singer and Actor. She has participated in series of workshops like: ‘Dance to Connect' by Battery Dance Company (USA), cultural exchange in Ghana by Odehe Dance and Drum, and TAKWEEN 2016 in Lebanon. She is a Cast of the stage play Heartbeat the musical by Lufodo, a former trainee at SPAN and presently works with the QDance Center, Lagos. She is a Pioneer member and Co-Director of Tantoloun Productions, member of Drumsview Concept and Dance Guild of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter)
BAKARE ISMAIL ABIODUN is a total theater artiste who graduated from PEFTI (The Pencils Film and Television Institute). He is a musician and has written and performed a number of songs. He has participated in projects like ‘Dance to Connect' by Battery Dance Company (USA), RHYTHM COMBINE dance drama between Germany, Madagascar, Ghana and Nigeria. Directed by Isioma Williams; SARO THE MUSICAL produced by Bolanle Austin Peters. He is a member of Drumsview Concept and Dance Guild of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter). He is a founding member and CoDirector at Tantoloun Productions.
ESTHER UMEONWUJIOBI is an entrepreneur. She studied Zoology from the Lagos State University; certified dance/art administrator from the Choreographic Development Center (CDC) Burkina Faso; trained performing artist at Danzodey Arts Academy. She is a member of the Dance Guild of Nigeria (Lagos Chapter). Her philosophy is grounded in love for the performing arts and a passion to share it in all its wealth and diversity. She is the creator of ‘Erudition’ (a free workshop on Dance/Arts Administration) in Nigeria and the Principal Consultant for ‘House of Nenye’ (a Fashion and Arts firm).
OYEBISI TOSIN AKINBOYE is a prolific artiste: a Visionary, Dancer and Musician (Bassist) with entrepreneurial skill. He holds: BSc. Physics from the Lagos State University, certificate in Art Management (The Cycle) – Devos institute of arts management at the university of Maryland. He also holds certificate in Cultural Management, from the Arterial Network. In his works, he likes to explore new ideas and perform in new and unconventional spaces. He has participated in, initiated, and coordinated and coordinated a number of projects 
As’tele Hangout is powered by TANTOLOUN Production Is an organization registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria, with focus on dance as a major act for other art forms. We are saddled with the responsibility of conceiving and executing projects to create engagement, as well as provide gainful employment to youths and artists in general. We focus on human development, cultural development and socioeconomic development, through the performance of creative and original art works.
